Ali Zafar’s going to perform in Valentine Day organized by Hum Tv

Ali Zafar might be known as an actor around the world now, but this does not mean his passion for music has ended. He might not have time to release albums now, but he definitely likes to sing in the Bollywood movies he acts in. He has song for his movie Meri Brother Ki Dulhan, London Paris New York, and for his upcoming movie Total Siyappa (which will release in the first week of March). He still sings on special requests or if something exciting comes up. Last, he sang the OST for the show Zindagi Gulzar Hai because Sultana Siddiqui had requested him. Once again, he did a concert this year for HUM TV channel. He was recently seen performing in the ‘Valentine Day’ concert organized by HUM TV at PC Hotel, Karachi. This will go on air on Hum TV on the 14th of February, 2014.
Here are the pictures from the concert:

Ali Zafar first Pakistani to be named Hottest Asian Man

The multi-talented pop star, actor and composer topped the list, which has largely been dominated by celebrities from India in the past, narrowly beating two-time winner Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, who came in second this year.
Zafar, who was pleasantly surprised by the win, said, “I am very flattered and never expected to be given this title. I still don’t know how I made it to this list, let alone top it. I saw a tweet frenzy right before the poll, which resulted in my trending worldwide on Twitter, so I had an idea about the volume of votes polled, I didn’t expect to top the list though! I would like to thank my fans who voted for me, from the bottom of my heart.”
Speaking to The Express Tribune, when asked how it felt to have trounced all his equally handsome competition, Zafar said, “I am a Hrithik fan too! Anyone would feel good having received the title, but beating anyone else to it is not the reason why I’m happy. It’s the fact that so many people made an effort to vote for me that has me smiling.”
Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, who compiles the annual list and is chairman of the judging panel, said, “Such was the volume of votes received from different continents, that the star of hit film Chashme Baddoor and soon to be released comedy Total Siyapaa was trending worldwide on Twitter. This is something that has never happened before, and showed that Ali is inarguably the biggest global celebrity Pakistan has right now.”
Guess who else made it to the list? Everyone’s beloved, drool-worthy TV actor Fawad Afzal Khan of Humsafar fame! Fawad rose 18 places from last year to the 25th spot on this year’s list.
Other notable names in the list included Shahid Kapoor (4), Salman Khan (5), Ranbir Kapoor (6) and Shahrukh Khan (14).
So what did Ali’s wife Ayesha Fazli have to say about all of this? She laughed, and light-heartedly said, “Well, it’s not news for me at least, I am glad the world has finally acknowledged it too!”

5. Shaan
Shaan is a Pakistani actor, writer and director. Upon making his debut in Javed Fazil's Bulandi alongside Reema Khan, Shaan has acted in numerous commercially successful films and has established himself as one of the critically acclaimed leading actors of Pakistan.

Armaghan Shahid was born in Lahore to the well-known director Riaz Shahid and television, theater and film actress Neelo. His father was a Muslim whereas his mother was Christian. He himself is a practicing Muslim. His paternal uncle Fiaz Shahid was a cameraman and producer for PTV in Islamabad. He started out his early education at the prestigious Aitchison College. His first acting venture came out at a boy scouts bonfire. He won the best actor's award in a play called Alif Noon, playing a comedy character but never took acting seriously as a career. After leaving Aitchison, he left for New York, United States and joined Newtown High School. Dreaming of becoming a lawyer due to his extraordinary talent of convincing people, he always thought he had a talent to become a lawyer. He stayed in New York for 7 years and then returned to Pakistan for vacation where he took up the family business, Riaz Shahid Films. At the age of 17, he did his first film as a debutante in "Bulandi" which was released in 1990 & was a huge success.

Shaan made his acting debut in Javed Fazil's Bulandi (1990), in which he starred opposite Reema Khan. The film received generally positive reviews, making it a commercial success and caused Shaan to be flooded with offers by directors at the time. Bulandi was followed up by Nagina, another hit in which he starred opposite Madiha Shah. However, due to inexperience and signing of too many films, it resulted in many back to back flops. He took a break from the cinema industry in 1994 and went abroad. In 1996, he returned and starred in Syed Noor's Ghoonghat, which was his first villain role. The film went on to become a success. He then appeared in the same director's Sangam, yet another commercial success across Pakistan. In 2000, he appeared in Mujhe Chand Chahiye, which also starred Atiqa Odho and Javed Sheikh. The film turned out to be a major hit at the box office and established Shaan's credentials as an actor. In 2007, he starred in Shoaib Mansoor's commercially successful Khuda Kay Liye, for which he won the "Best Actor" award at the Lux Style Awards. In 2009, he appeared in Zill-e-Shah and Nach Ke Yaar Manana. As of 2010, Shaan has acted in more than 200 films, most of which became commercial successes in Pakistan. Shaan has revealed that he had been offered small roles in films by Aamir Khan's Ghajini and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6 which he declined as the roles portrayed Pakistanis as villains and were thus unacceptable for him.

Keen on making a difference to filmmaking in Pakistan, Shaan launched himself as a director. He directed his ambitious project Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon, which was released in 1999. The film was produced by the art entrepreneur Tanvir Fatima Rehman. In the film, he co-starred with Faisal Rehman, Meera and Resham. The music was scored by M. Arshad while the cinematographer was done by Azhar Burki and the film was written by Pervaiz Kaleem. He then directed Moosa Khan (2001), which starred himself, Saima, Abid Ali, Jan Rambo and Noor. The film received genuinely positive reviews from critics. Shaan is working on Chup alongside Juggan Kazim. The film is written by Mashal Peerzada and distributed/produced by Lux productions. The film will feature Pakistani actress Resham in an "item number". The shooting of her song was shown on ARY Digital show Happenings in July 2010. According to Shaan, the music soundtrack is composed by Zeb and Haniya with several newcomers. In a interview with Instep Magazine, Shaan confirmed to be working on three more projects with will feature Juggan Kazim whilst talks are on with models Natasha. The film is a commercial drama film set in Pakistan winter time and unfolds a dramatic but thoughtful film. Later, he confirmed that he will be directing, producing and writing the other pojects by himself. His second project working with the title Masakali is written by himself and scripted by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat. The film features Juggan Kazim and newcomers. The filming will begin in mid-2011.

Shaan is a successful writer and has written short stories and works during his career. Recently, he scripted Reema Khan's Love Mein Gum and was contracted to star in the film but opted out, as Reema was unable to direct the script in the way he planned. Shaan joined with Mashal Peerzada, an director, scriptwriter and produced to work on his film Chup. He wrote the story whilst Peerzada wrote the script for the film. He is writing the story for his three upcoming projects.

Shaan has joined Geo TV Network and he will host a morning show on Geo News. His show's name is Geo Shaan Say, which will be aired on Geo News from the 23rd of April, 2012 at 8:30 in the morning.

Pepsi: Shaan also endorsed another mega brand, Pepsi where he along with the singing sensation Ali Zafar helped strengthen the brand in Pakistan. Pakistani turned actor Ali Zafar and Nagris Fakhri recently shot for a Pakistani mobile company TV commercial at Bangkok.
This was for the first time, both the actors were seen sharing the screen together, but for a different purpose. Before leaving for Bangkok, we caught up with Ali Zafar in Delhi and he told us, “I shall be leaving for Bangkok for a shooting along with actress Nagris Fakhri.” But when we asked him for what, Ali just smiled and said, “Well! wait and watch.” And finally, we got to know it was not for any movie shoot but for a TV commercial that both were spotted shooting in Bangkok together.
Ask whether he would be interested to act along with Nargis in any Bollywood movies and Ali replies, “Why not, Nargis is a beautiful and talented actress and has done a great job in the movie Rockstar. It will be nice to work with her in a Bollywood movie.”

The Pakistan drama industry is now growing and spreading out with zeal and zest. The actors, polished with majestic personalities and their towering charisma have earned Pakistan a reputable name round the globe. It is noteworthy that many of our famous and most loved actors have been extracted from different fields, and many of them have been singers. The best thing about these actors is that they have already won the hearts of millions of fans and that half of the public is crazy about them. let us have a peep into the list of names who have been uncrowned champions of our industry in more than one ways.

Noor Jahan

The very first singer turned actor/actress in our industry has been the legendary Madam Noor Jahan. She was not just an iconic singer of her time but a beautiful actress. Her acting career kicked in the year 1935 with Pind Di Kurhi. She kept on working as both a singer and actress for the Pakistani Entertainment Industry and her last movie was Mirza Sahibaan in 1947.

Arif Lohar

The government of Pakistan has honoured Arif Lohar with the award for Pride of Performance for his contribution to both the singing and acting fields with his unique variety-oriented talent. He has been assigned a role in a movie called Jugni directed by Syed Noor as per the records from The Express Tribune (2010).

Ali Zafar

The lucky champ who has won the hearts of not just fans in Pakistan but also in India, Ali Zafar is a model, painter, singer and actor. His first album was Huqqa Paani released in 2003 and after that Ali Zafar did not look back. He got to play the lead role in an Indian movie called Tere Bin Laden in 2010 and then again in a bigger banner along with Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan in Mere Bhai ki Dulhan.

After his dynamic success as a singer both as a pop star in Pakistan and as a playback singer in India, Junaid Khan tried his luck in the field of acting and was appreciated for all the roles he had performed. His acting debut was from Hum TV in the Drama Serial named Kabhi Na Kabhi which earned Junaid a magnificent number of encouragement and fans.

Fawad Khan

The heartthrob of our nation these days, Fawad Afzal Khan is also, without any surprises a singer turned actor. He is widely known for being the lead singer in the band named Entity Paradigm. His chief achievement was his role in the Shoaib Mansoor’s movie Khuda Kay Liye (2007). From then onwards Fawad was flooded with one of the most unforgettable roles and he performed them with his amazing talent and awe-striking looks. His famous Drama serials include Dastaan, Humsafar, Ashk (currently playing at Geo TV).

Komal Rizvi

One of the female singer turned actors we have in town. Komal Rizvi is the first female VJ who landed in the Indian platform. Komal started singing when she was a teenager and finally won the Best Female Vocalist in 2011. Her songs are heard with great pleasure especially in Coke Studio sessions. Hum TV’s dramas have had Komal in many of their plays namely; Lehrein, Teesra Peher, Samander Hai Darmiyan, etc.
Therefore, the Pakistani Showbiz is subjected to the continuous changes when it comes to the status of the celebrities. It seems like the nation has got some multi-talented artists only in this particular niche.

Ali Zafar on Music, Movies & Marriage

Ali Zafar-1
Three years ago Ali Zafar was just starting to make his name in Indian cinema. Today, he’s a household name. Some say he’s Pakistan’s most famous export to India. He hasn’t made a misstep since he sidled up on screen with ‘Tere Bin Laden’ three years ago. ‘London Paris New York’ (LPNY) has ratcheted his career up another notch. Okay, so the movie didn’t do too well. But it did well enough for Ali Zafar. He insists there’s a huge populace that loved the film. If the messages he received on Twitter are anything to go by. He smiles, “It was heart-warming when people appreciated the film, my performance and my music. It was an experimental film. It was risky to make a film with only two people.” But the risk seems to have paid off. LPNY did phenomenally well in Pakistan, he claims. It ran for four solid weeks here. The actor is buoyant at the turn of events, naturally. He seems to have tasted blood with his modest success. For now he wants to go commercial with a vengeance. “That’s the way to go,” he says. “I want to do different kinds of movies. I believe in the commercial aspect of cinema.” Well, you can’t get more commercial than David Dhawan. His next film ‘Chashme Buddoor’, a remake of Sai Paranjpe’s 1983 classic is being directed by none other than David Dhawan himself. He’s just back from Mauritius after completing a schedule of the movie and he can’t stop grinning at the experience. This is the first time he’s working with an experienced director like David Dhawan and he can’t stop singing his praises. “David Dhawan is a gem of a person. He’s sweet, fun and entertaining. I really enjoy working with him. And it’s easy working with him because he’s so experienced. Having said that, I’ve been lucky to have worked with first time directors who are so good at the craft. But again, there’s no substitute to experience.” The actor, who has just finished dubbing for the film, is well aware of the downside of touching a classic. He’s seen the original and tells you at the outset that the newer version is so much different from the original. And there was no question about copying Farookh Sheikh’s style. Says he, “Farookh Sheikh is a class apart. There was no way I could have done what he’s done. So, I didn’t take that route at all. I’ve given the character my own style and treatment. The film has been changed keeping the modern times in mind. It’s definitely more fun but at the same time we’ve kept the soul of the original intact. We’ve retained its earthiness.” The actor who’s also a singer, composer, painter seems to be minted with a special lustre. He started out by painting portraits in a 5 star lobby. His good looks caught the eye of girls who’d come to get their portraits done just so that they could chat him up. He smiles at the memory. Soon he hit the music scene with his compositions. As a singer-composer, he hit the charts regularly. He composed the music of LPNY. He discusses his love for music with giddy excitement. “In a day and age where music albums don’t make the cut, my song Jhoom zoomed to popularity heights. It had 15 lakh hits on YouTube.” That he’s the first Pakistani to actually make it in India hasn’t escaped him. But it doesn’t surprise him. “I think the time was ripe for me,” he points out. Here, his success on Indian ground is a matter of pride for the Pakistani people. He gives that trademark lopsided smile, “They like the way I have conducted my career out here. I have broken a myth that a Pakistani can’t make it big in Bollywood.” He’s married to his childhood sweetheart Ayesha. And he says she trusts him completely. Quiz him about the kissing scene in LPNY and he says his wife has no issues with it. “I had discussed the scene with her. So she knew. But I didn’t actually kiss Aditi. A body double was used.” The actor says he isn’t comfortable doing intimate scenes on the screen.
