On the contrary, India has been a diplomat in this
case, where first it offers opportunities to the Pakistani artists
(playing with their weak points) and then hand them over to the Indian
citizens for criticizing them and insulting the best way they can.
Despite of their quality work they do in their country, these Pakistani
Artists are always over shadowed by Indian Stars.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
There is no doubt about the fact that it was Rahat
Fateh Ali Khan, Nephew of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, was responsible
in giving the Indian cinema, a new voice they were looking for. While
the things were seemed to be smooth, Indian police arrested him from
airport as the controversy says that he was carrying a huge amount of
foreign currency. The case was highlighted in the Indian Media where
this singer was taken as a criminal, losing his followership.
Atif Aslam
Next we have on the list is, Atif Aslam, the idol of
the youth today, The formal lead singer of Jal-the Band in Pakistan
broke up with his band to try his luck in India and was quite
successful. Initially, Music Composers like Pritam took complete benefit
of this low cost singer and with this combination; many hits appeared
on the charts. However, despite of the fact that how much his songs were
liked by the audience, He never got any award as a ‘best singer’. It
seems an Indian Policy of not releasing awards to these Pakistani
Artists. Since Atif landed up in India, he has been a victim of
criticism by the guru singers of India like Asha Bhosle, Abhijeet, etc,
who never leave a chance to criticize the Pakistani Icon. Aadesh
Shrivastav have gone so far calling Atif as ‘garbage’, however, it was
only Pritam who supported him.
Meera
If you remember, Meera was casted in a Bollywood film
‘Nazar’ in a lead role against Ashmit Patel, few years back by Mahesh
Bhatt. According to her, the Indian cinema created a controversy about
her censored kissing scenes in the movie that created a list of problems
to be faced in the home country. She even got threats to be killed by
the religious extremists in the country. The film didn’t only flop
badly, but also brought a bad name for the Pakistani Artists.
Veena Malik
Last but not the least, Veena Malik who went to be a
part of Big Boss, suddenly give a new blow to the overall image of
Pakistani Artists by representing Pakistan. Soon the FSM magazine
controversy rose, where it was claimed that veena shot for a nude Photo
Sesson to be there on the top of the Magezine. However, she declined the
news. Things are still in confusion.
Going through the above stated examples, it is easier
to understand that The Artists of Pakistan who go and work in India,
often land up with some kind of a controversy which further exploit
their overall image-and-Business!
