Morning show culture has
begun with great zest and zeal in Pakistan. Everyone is now running
after having his or her own morning show. It’s more like starting your
day with the stars instead of your family. As soon as you wake up, you
hear ‘Utho Jao Pakistan’, ‘Good Morning Pakistan’, ‘Jago Pakistan Jago’,
‘Muskurati Morning’, ‘Subha Saveray Samaa k Sath’, ‘Ba’khabar Savera’
and load more. This is what keeps ringing in your head throughout the
morning.
You may find various other actors as
morning show anchors including Sanam Baloch, Savera Nadeem, Fahad
Mustafa and etc. All of them are working with great dedication and
enthusiasm for their viewers. As soon as the dawn breaks, these morning
shows come to live. They are unique, entertaining, controversial,
interesting and above all; extravagant at the same time. No doubt they
have groomed the housewives quite a lot, but they are not for the
working women. These are only for a certain category of people. They
entertain the housewives and all time free people. Housewives after
taking out time from their household chores get some entertainment out
of these while others are just glued to the screen.
Being a morning show host is not a piece
of cake. It requires a lot of hard work and efforts for the success of
the show. It is quite difficult to coordinate with the guests and live
calls simultaneously and also keeping in mind to not to cross the
limits. On the other hand, morning shows have become more like fashion
shows or some sort of publicity programs. The recent incident of Maya
Khan depicts the true story. Just because of publicity, people use their
shows and go overboard. Moreover, women have now started copying the
design and dresses of their favorite anchors. Their jewelry, their
dresses and their style; everything is being copied. This morning show
culture is spreading like a fire in every household.
With any doubt, everyone knows it is the
job of an anchor to look good. But looking good is not the prime
objective. Initially the morning shows began with a motive to entertain
and make the common man learn something fruitful along with some
entertainment. The tables have turned now. There is more of vulgarity,
extravaganza and competition instead of entertainment in the morning
shows. In a country like Pakistan, where most of the people cannot
afford to have a meal 3 times a day, these shows add an insult to their
injury. Showing Rs 50,000 designer wear or a meal worth Rs 5,000 in your
show is just not fair.
All in all, there must be a limit to
these morning shows in terms of money, talks and their number. The right
amount must be spent on the right cause. Together these anchors can
make a huge difference for Pakistan if they once give up their own
motives for good!
