Pakistan is facing a number of social issues these
days. Apart from poverty, Pakistan has high rates of suicide, lack of
literacy, street crime, and child labor. Though the higher authorities
are trying to solve these issues to a certain extent, the results are
not visible yet.
Today, people have strangled themselves in
various issues. For instance, most of the youngsters these days are
engaged in love affairs and so-called friendships. Without even properly
knowing anyone they fall in and out of love which not only disheartens
them but also has a negative impact on the society.
Such a real life story was portrayed in Meri Kahani Meri Zabani, aired on 2nd
September 2012. A student of engineering was made a fool out of his
innocence by two girls who eventually met a good ending. The girls met
him on Facebook, talked to him for hours and used his
wealth by all means. By the end, when the guy was completely in love and
confused about what to do when he gets to know their real faces and
brings it all to an end by killing them. This is what
usually happens in the society. People get so enraged that they can’t
think up of right thing at the right time and end up doing wrong to
themselves and others as well.
Some people might blame new technologies for that
but this is not the case. Technology is to benefit the people; it’s the
people who misuse it. Moreover, lack of moral values and awareness also
causes these incidents. Pakistan is going through a social downfall in
this era. People have lost all their ancestors’ values, norms and
culture. Some stern steps are instantly required for the improvement of
its condition or else it will be too late!
