Jazba And Atif Aslam Collaborate For Pakistan’s First ‘Rockumentary’

Mobilink has announced collaboration with Atif Aslam under the banner of its youth brand, Jazba, for Pakistan’s first ‘rock-umentary’, which will be filmed during a ten-city concert tour.
The ‘rock-umentary’ will provide fans with an insight into Atif Aslam’s passion for music, the struggles he underwent during his initial years and the effort put in as part of the process of creating his widely popular music. Jazba will film this ‘rock-umentary’ during the ‘Jazba Generation Tour’, a nationwide series of concerts by Atif Aslam, which will provide exclusive backstage footage of Atif Aslam’s experiences during the tour, his interactions with his fans and an intimate look at the man behind the superstar.

The ‘Jazba Generation Tour’ also promises to provide one of the Pakistan’s greatest musical initiatives, as Jazba is simultaneously launching four (4) contests in line with the brand promise of ‘Juro Gey Tu Jano Gey’, which encourages Pakistan’s youth to commit to their passion. These contests are being organized at 100 universities across Pakistan and aim to identify talent in categories such as of ‘Best director’, ’Photographer’, ‘Music Band’ and ‘Wardrobe Designer’. Winners will get the opportunity to be part of the tour and showcase their talents with Jazba and Atif Aslam.

Watch Sur Kshetra Episode 2

While Sur Kshetra Episode 1 only introduced Indian Contestants, its Captain and Guest Judges, Sur Kshetra Episode 2will bring forward the Pakistani Captain Atif Aslam and his 10 selected contestants, who were picked from various cities of Pakistan.
As we reported earlier, Veteran Pakistani Singers Sajjad Ali, Hadiqa Kiani and Ustad Ghulam Ali will be the guest judge on Sur Kshetra. So this can be seen happening at the very second episode of Sur Kshetra. The Guest Judges will select 6 out of 10 Pakistani contestants and eliminate the 4 right away in the Episode 2 of Sur Kshetra.
The second installment of Sur Kshetra broadcasted on Sunday (9th September 2012).

Sur-Kshetra will start on 8 Sept, 2012, SAT-SUN at 7:30 PM. Sur Kshetra, the most awaited reality music show will be anchored by Bollywood actor Ayesha Takia and will also have musical stalwarts like Ghulam Ali, Hadiqa Kiani and Sajjad Ali from Pakistan, and Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Darbar, Alka Yagnik and Sapna Mukherjee from India.
A week ago, the deal between the Indian rival channels was sealed and announced. Initially, there were suggestions that the show would air on the Star network. However, that didn’t work out.
For the first time, an Indian reality show auditioned for talent in three cities in Pakistan — Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, shortlisting 10 contestants. They will compete against 10 singers scouted from Indian cities like Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. The show is likely to go on air sometime in September-October this year.
Sur Kshetra features singer-actor-composer Himesh Reshammiya as the captain of the Indian side and Pakistani pop star Atif Aslam as the captain of the Pakistani team. Singers Asha Bhosle and Abida Parveen will be part of the judging panel, along with veterans like Ghulam Ali, who will judge one of the episodes. Actor Ayesha Takia Azmi, who vanished from the public eye after Wanted (2008), resurfaces as the show’s host.

The show was shot in Dubai to avoid complications between nations that have always been somewhat antagonistic to each other. According to sources, the finale is the only episode left to be shot. Apparently, it will be filmed in London after the show goes on air.
Boney Kapoor, who was instrumental in getting the show together for Sahara One, says, “There is a deal in place with Geo TV to air the show in Pakistan. This show is going to start today date(8 Sept 2012), but it will be aired in India and Pakistan.”

Sur Kshetra or Sur-Kshetra (Hindi: सुर क्षेत्र, Urdu: سر علاقے) is a singing talent show or musical battle between teams of two neighbouring countries: India and Pakistan to be aired simulcast on Sahara One & Colors TV. The Indian Team is led by music director / singer, Himesh Reshammiya and the Pakistan Team is led by singer, Atif Aslam.^[1][2][3][4]
Aarti Shrivastava, International documentary filmmaker, was the Senior Executive Producer of the show. Kshounish Palit was the creative director and Mohd. Faizan was the associate creative director of the show.
