Coke Studio Season 6 Initial Artist Lineup Released

As soon as the new year starts, speculations about the lineup of Coke Studio also starts to flow out in musical circles because in the recent times, Coke Studio is by far the most recognized platform for any of the musicians around and gives them a chance to become stars overnight. So naturally, everyone tries to be a part of this biggest musical phenomenon but eventually few make it to the final list.

After successfully completing its 5 seasons, Coke Studio is now gearing up for the 6^th one and we have got our hands on few of the acts that have been finalized for the upcoming season.

First up is The Legend, Alamgir who simply needs no introduction. Being one of the pioneers of the pop industry of Pakistan, he is once again seen in the music circles of Pakistan after returning from Canada, where he shifted after disappearing from the music scene. This is surely a huge boost for Coke Studio to have such a legend in the house.

Next up is another Legend, better known as Junooni, yes he is Ali Azmat. Ali, who also appeared on the first season of Coke Studio, is now back for the 6^th season as reported by us last year as well. Ali’s appearance on first season proved to be vital in defining what Coke Studio is all about. One can simply not wait to see him back in action once more.

Ali Zafar who is now making waves worldwide with his Bollywood acting career has once again taken out time to appear on Coke Studio which will be his 3^rd appearance. Let’s see what new flavours and influences he brings to the house.

Abrar ul haq is a new entry into Coke Studio. Regarded as the bhangra/pop king, Mr Haq has reigned the airways of the country for one of the longest times. But lately he is seen more for his welfare work and his political affiliation with PTI that makes it all more interesting to see a singer-turned-social worker-turned-politician once again into singing arena, although he can be seen taking out singles every now and then.

Jal, Bilal Khan and Uzair Jaswal, all had earlier been on the sets of Coke Studio. Bilal with 2 appearances, Jal and Uzair with one each under their belt are once again back into the hut to churn out more memorable tunes.

Last but not the least, Fariha Pervaiz, one of the most consistent female singer of our country is also going to be the part of the upcoming season. Fariha who has managed her well to evolve with time is expected to bring a lot more richness to the music of Coke Studio.

Till now there is no folk or classical artist in the list but we can expect their addition in the lineup after seeing the trend from the last years.
