Following the cinematic bans of Bollywood films Agent Vinod and Ek Tha
Tiger due to slight anti-Pakistani motives, there was a slight fear that
the same would be the fate of the upcoming romantic film, Jab Tak Hai
Jaan – directed by the late Yash Chopra and starring Shahrukh Khan.The
soubt originated after King Khan revealed that his role was that of an
army officer in Kashmir. Owing a lot to IMGC Global Entertainment for
convincing the fact that the film contains no anti-Pakistani actions;
the Yash Raj Films product will indeed be released in Pakistan.
After the sudden death of Yash Chopra, Chairman of IMGC Global Entertainment Amjad Rasheed met Aditya Chopra at his father’s funeral and guaranteed him that the film has nothing against the country. He states, “I met Aditya Chopra on his father’s funeral and he assured me that the film is not against Pakistan or its security agencies and it does not have any negative religious connotations.
